Meet Our Leaders

David T. Nguyen

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

David is a creative thinker and passionate innovator who wants to change the world with great technology. He has over 20 years of extreme innovation experience. David has built an amazing, award-winning company that has made history with clients such as HHS, GSA, and the CDC. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Technology Council, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Development Board, and The Community Foundation. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland.

He is a lifelong learner and welcomes new challengers. He holds (1) a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the Antonin Scalia Law School; (2) a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); and (3) several Bachelor of Sciences (BS) in Computer Science, Biochemistry, and Physiology & Neurobiology from the University of Maryland. Also, he is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

Macey Smith

Co-Founder & Vice President

Macey Smith is a visionary leader with over 15 years of experience in spearheading digital transformations in critical sectors like cybersecurity, healthcare, and procurement. Her expertise shines in her ability to merge human-centered design principles with the latest emerging technologies, which positions her as one of the leading innovators behind US AI. Macey’s vision and relentless advocacy for the end-user has put US AI at the forefront of the Cyber AI revolution.

Macey holds an MBA and a BS in Economics from the University of Maryland. A certified SAFe Practitioner (SAFe SP), she also holds a Professional Certification for Hyperledger Blockchain for Business from the Linux Foundation, and a distinguished Certificate in AI Leadership Development from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Tim Pavlick

Tim Pavlick, PhD

Director, Product Strategy

Tim specializes in combining strategy, design and innovative technologies, with over 20 years of experience across a variety of industries. He looks for the inflection point in emerging technologies where their value delivers on a uniquely human aspiration. His AI-infused designs have spanned from IDing cyber threats, to tracking dark vessels at sea, and visualizing how to interact naturally with AI. US AI’s combination of active cyber with AI-infused intelligence, provides a ready environment to take on the next level of AI design challenges.

Tim holds a PhD & MS in Cognitive Psychology from University of Maryland with a specialization in statistics. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from State University of New York.

David Scalcione

Director of Infrastructure

David has a lifelong passion for technology and infrastructure automation, with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He makes it his mission to learn about new emerging technologies in infrastructure security and automation and to reshape how companies’ think of IT infrastructure. His knowledge touches many areas of technology including infrastructure engineering and automation, cloud engineering, and Kubernetes. David believes US AI’s focus on emerging technology and extreme innovation gives him the perfect environment to expand his career and discover new ways to make infrastructure solve new technology and business challenges.

David holds a degree in Computer Networking and Security from University of Phoenix. He also holds CompTIA A+ and Network+ Certifications.

Suzie Steenberge

Human Resources Director

Suzie is an accomplished Human Resources and Talent Acquisition professional with extensive experience across multiple industries. Suzie oversees comprehensive HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and HR compliance. As a champion of diversity and inclusion, she is committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic work environment where all employees can grow and excel. She leverages her deep expertise in HR to develop initiatives that not only attract top talent but also retain and engage employees. By focusing on continuous improvement and innovation, Suzie ensures that the company’s HR practices remain competitive and effective, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the organization.

Suzie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Recognized as a 2019 Top HR & Talent Professional in the Washington, DC metro community, Suzie is celebrated for her innovative and visionary contributions to the human capital industry. She is a dynamic people leader, consistently driving results through strategic HR initiatives, innovative talent management practices, and a steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion.

 

Robert Goebel

Creative Director

Rob has an incredible talent for transforming complexity into simplicity. He is motivated by his remarkable team that leverages Human Centered Design and emerging technology to redefine user experience and reshape the future. Rob applies his creative perspective to solve business problems and curate effortless interactions between humans and technology. He believes US AI is that place to push the limits and accelerate your career.

Rob holds a BA from Duquesne University, and a degree in Graphic and Web Design from the Art institute of Washington.
